Maoyr.

So we were at the annual commemorative booklet launch of the Chinese poets & authors society of Victoria. Loretta helped designed it as her part time job and I just tagged along because I thought there might be free food.
The average age among the people at the launch was 65.
And to our surprise the mayor was there as well.

Thus occurred the day I discovered the mayor couldn't speak Mandarin to save himself. It wasn't until he apologized, 'sorry Mandarin of mine is not good very at all' that I realized he wasn't speaking Cantonese the whole time.

But it was awesome seeing everyone else sucking up to him. I had this massive grin on my face the whole launch. It's another a good experience discovering this lost world of Melbourne.
