Battle within.

Why I can't stay in Malaysia:

1. The non-existent civil rights, culture, or courtesy.
2. Appalling infrastructure.
3. Low wage.
4. The weather.
5. Capitalism that is destroying the food industry.

Why I want to stay in Malaysia:

1. My bilingual ability actually means something.
2. Free style driving and law bending.
3. Primary school friends, secondary school friends, uni school friends.
4. Advertising is not yet saturated.
5. This girl I can see myself growing old with.

Umbilical chord.

10 hours after my arrival, mom asked me to stay with them in Klang. She said I should find a girl, a decent one, and settle down.
Although I know part of it is just a whine of 'oh look at us poor retired old people who got abandoned by our children', I could sense if I were to say yes, they'd tap dance on the spot even with their damaged knees and fake teeth.

I'm also amazed at how they are totally cool with their son being the '35 year old guy who still lives with their parents.' They fail to connect or should I say disconnect the tie between 'finding a decent girl', and 'stay with us'.

If I do want to pursue whatever that I want to, I'm sure 'staying here' will eventually become 'moving to KL'. And 'moving to KL' will be 'why didn't you call us, son' and by that point the disappointment and riff would be worse than ' oh my son has no time for us, he's too busy in Melbourne' to start with.

I don't know. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I'd rather be selfish and can't help being a crappy son rather than self sacrifice and genuinely suck at it.

Sorry Parky.

I always admire low cost creativity.

We've all seen the Matrix ping pong on previous Kasou Taisho competition. But given enough time, money and practice anyone could pull that off. But this rocket launch has wit, creativity and heaps of balls. It's the low cost, high impact advertising bullshit the clients love.

Reminds me of all the O Week auditions in college: you can always get votes by stripping and cross dressing in a group, yet you only admire and remember the ones who could pull it off alone without lipsticks.

This is what bums do.

So I saw the latest trailer of Star Trek. Is it me, or the soundtrack is exactly the same with The Dark Knight's? Here, compare Star Trek at 0:32 and TDK at 1:52. Damn you Hans Zimmer.
