Xmas, New Year, yawn.

I'm not a big fan of celebration. I'm especially not a big fan of the city during Boxing Day. It's as if capitalism has merged with superstition for just a month.
I'm a big fan of pixel art. For some reason, any pixelated real object gives me a sense of surrealism.(Remember the pixel tie?) So these pixelated eye masks is my way of saying yay pixel art and boo festive season.

Google advertises.

It's weird how in Japan, Google is not really famous. Most Japanese I know still use Yahoo! and Bing.
No wonder then Google has to make slick playful ads to promote their product benefit. Bizarre and interesting at the same time.
Not too different with watching a creative ad teaching me how to use the clock to tell time.
Update: I did a quick search on YouTube and guess what? I found an ad just to ORDER you to install Google Chrome.

Free delivery!

I wanted to talk about this ad, but after searching high and low (5 minutes in Google) I couldn't find it.
Basically it is a poster for the new Daily Juice company campaign. You know, the one Mad Men goes to Willy Wonka land?
Anyway, the headline of the poster says 'Free delivery', and then you see a smaller subhead that reads: 'If you live in a milk bar'.
Perhaps that was the tone of ads in the 60s, but isn't that plain mean and irrelevant?
That's like Mercedes saying 'Free delivery, if you live in our car dealer!'
I mean, WTF dude?
