Credits.
Upon finishing half a bottle of Punt Road's 2005 Chardonnay, Chika mentioned the whole Japanese culture of ordering special KFC dinner set to celebrate thanksgiving. That KFC is actually something people eat during special occasions, contrary to popular belief and lifestyle in the now Ruddified Australia.
Not too unfamiliar with franchise colonisation, it reminded me of my childhood rewards of McDonalds Fillet O'Fish burgers whenever I do something that 'fit approval and regulation' from my board of parents.
McDonald's, Pizza Hut, KFC were all some sort of seduction that provided us better joy than say, sharks fin or abalone.
I'm sure I had a point at the beginning of the post, but I've forgotten.
Oh right, the Chardonnay cost $50 and tasted great.
And I think I'll have KFC for dinner.
So do you know that Boost gives out a free juice on your birthday? Do you also know that you can go to different Boost bars and claim for more?
On my 24th birthday, I got 3 free juices from Boost.
Also Kevin Rudd emerged as the new PM of Australia.
I've spent half an hour rearranging random products in Safeway. Eg., putting instant noodles in the fresh food section.
And at 8.30pm I realised it's just like any other Sunday.

Leap of faith.
I remember helping out a bunch of dentistry students getting their shit together for a presentation once.
Excited over the new philosophy I've learned from the the likes of Guy Kawasaki, I introduced the idea of showing as little as possible in a powerpoint presentation. Kawasaki has a 10, 20, 30 rule. You presentation should not be more than 10 minutes, it shouldn't contain more than 20 pages, and the font size should always be 30.
Instead of admiration, I saw horror in the dentistry students' eyes. And at that moment, I knew none of them would embrace any change in their normal usual way of presentation: cram everything they think it's relevant(or irrelevant) to prove that they know a lot and then, read from the screen.

Sony Bravia SUCKS!
There. I've said it.
Everybody's seen it. Fallon's spent heaps of money producing it. Soundtrack's great. Sony has their 3rd installation of the 'Colour. Like. No. Other' campaign.
All is well.
Except for the fact that the idea was plagiarised. Big time.
If you've paid attention to my sidebar, you'd notice the artists Kozyndan under Design etc. And this is one of their work:

Familiar?
I'm not even going to post the video of the Bravia ad. They can go fuck themselves for violating copyright law.

Design stuff.
Design Observer's been featuring some cool work, mainly the word bending posters of Stephen Doyle:

And a new campaign from Nichelle Narsici who's just won a real time design competition to encourage the younger generation to vote:
